The Almanac Online is the community news and information service for Menlo Park, Atherton, Portola Valley and Woodside, contiguous communities located on the Midpeninsula south of San Francisco. The Web site, provides frequent news updates; a forum called Town Square, where residents and visitors exchange information and ideas on matters large and small; and other features designed to link people with information about community events and resources. The Almanac is a division of Embarcadero Publishing Co. The Almanac was founded in 1965 by three Portola Valley residents, Betty Fry, Hedy Boissevain and Jean Helfin. It is published every Wednesday.
