Padre Palou

Padre Palou led the second of Spaniards arrived that arrived in the Palo Alto area. These men were mostly Franciscans who were searching for a good location for their mission. They set a cross at the foot of El Palo Alto, but later decided that the creek was too dry and moved on to Santa Clara and a more dependable water supply.
