Mission Statement

The Morrissey/Compton Educational Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, private corporation founded in 1982 by Dr. Patricia Morrissey and Dr. Carolyn Compton. Dr. John Brentar is the Director. The agency provides both diagnostic and treatment services for children and adults with learning disabilities, as well as professional consultation to agencies and community organizations.

It is the mission of Morrissey/Compton Educational Center to enable children and adults with learning disabilities and other school-related difficulties to achieve their goals by providing the highest quality diagnostic and intervention services in a supportive environment.

Related to Morrissey/Compton Education Center, there is Challenge Summer School is a five-week summer program for elementary students with mild to moderate learning or language disabilities. The program focuses on maintenance of academic skills, instruction in new strategies to succeed in school, and the continuing development of self-esteem.
