Howard Zink

Howard Augustus Zink was a Police Chief of Palo Alto from 1929 through 1954. The Hotel De Zink (Palo Alto Shelter) was named after him. He was commisioned by J. Edgar Hoover to find a way to identiy every person in the united states. He developed finger printing. He also created the first "speed trap" on University Ave. He fought against prejudice and the Klu Klux Klan.
