Beech has degrees from, UC Santa Cruz, the Stanford Graduate School of Business and UC Berkeley. She is working towards a PhD at Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.
[edit] Career in engineering and higher education
In the 1990's, Beech held various marketing management positions at several leading Silicon Valley technology companies, include GAIN Technologies (including after its acquistion by Sybase), Daisy Systems Corp. and Rolm Corp.
As of 2002, Beech is the Chief Executive Officer at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).[1][2] She is the founder and principal at Straight Shot Consulting. She was a group product manager of Network and Interactive TV at the 3DO Company. She has done other stuff at Stanford.[3] She also hosts public affairs radio programmes for KUSP, the National Public Radio affiliate for the California Central Coast.

She lives in Aptos and perhaps enjoys dressage.[4]
