Christmas Tree Lane is the 1700 block of Fulton Street in Palo Alto that lights up every Christmas with elaborate lights and decorations. It's a long-standing tradition. New residents are usually glad to participate; however, if they choose not to, neighbors gladly offer to decorate their house for them.

The row of houses on Fulton Street off Embarcadero Road used to be the last street in Palo Alto in 1940. That holiday, men placed pipes in the ground at equal distances in front of houses in the 1700 and 1800 blocks of Fulton. They strung electrical wires and capped their efforts by purchaseing Yule trees for each pipe. The pipes served as Christmas tree stands. Christmas Tree Lane has lit up the last two weeks of December ever since.
